On the past two evenings I attended two wedding banquets, and I was struck by the contrast.
On Sat was DH's best friend's banquet. Although I was feeling under the weather, I enjoyed myself, because the bridal couple were obviously happy and in love.
Last night, at my colleague's banquet, I felt very sad, evenethough I was feeling much better, because the bride (my colleague) did not look happy at all. In fact, she looked rather grim. Even in the photos of the morning festivities (which they put onto powerpoint), she only smiled in a total of 2 photos. Sigh.
