Last Day

Today is my last day at Montfort.

Right now, I'm somewhat pissed. It is my last day, and I'm stuck here at 5:22pm.
I wanted to take my leave (say gdbye to the big boss). When I went down at 2pm, another teacher was in there with him. I knew that he had a meeting at 3pm, so I wanted to catch him before that. I came up to pee, and the next thing I know, the Sup is early, and arrived at 2:40pm. For a 3pm meeting. So here I am. Sigh. I had used my time constructively to clear my desk, and now I'm watching "Day After Tomorrow". Again. I'll soon be sick of this show.

Back on topic, today is my last day at Montfort. I'm having mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I'm quite glad to be leaving, because of the insane amount of work I had to do as a relief teacher, and also because I no longer have to deal with the (specific)horrid, horrid boys.

On the other hand, it also means saying goodbye to the nice boys. I thought I had told all my classes that I was leaving ages ago, but apparently I did not tell my favourite class (!!!) until Wed, which was my last lesson with them.

Yesterday, the 3E3 boys gathered to take a photo with me, and Matthew wrote the sweetest entry on his blog

He placed that in a card and got the Pure Geog boys in his class to write in it (all but Uwais contributed :( )

Derek, Fauzi and Paul chipped in to get me pair of cute cat earrings, Jon JC (E3) and Jericho (of E1 and disgustingly good grades) gave me an adorable handphone holder and a lovely cross pendant. E1 boys Rongli, Caleb, Kai Jun and Leslie (Elective Geog) gave me a really cute soft toy - turtle and its baby, and two eerie voodoo wedding dolls.

So sweet right? I'm going to miss them so, so much.

Huan Si and Ivan from my elective geog class looked for me after school just to get my email. And promptly left. Lol. I guess they're not so good with words, but I appreciate the thought. Xianda (E1, Pure Geog) gave me a card too.

I gave the E1 and E2 elective boys the card I made for them, and they were all "'Cher, why you leave. Stay in Montfort." to the point where the new contract teacher who was teaching in E2 at the time said: 'looks like they like you a lot, and will miss you'. Ha! These rascals could not care less abt me on a normal day. It was so funny.

Wanjing kindly made me a card, and got Sin Pei, Swee Hoon, Kevin Lloyd and Edmund to say nice things to me. They also gave me a book (Tuesdays with Morrie) and some Robinson's vouchers. So sweet, right?

I'm definitely going to miss my Pure Geog boys very much, and my colleagues, who have made the suffering the horrid, horrid boys worth it.

When I read Matthew's blog entry last night, I was so touched. It really only takes being appreciated by one (a few in this case) to make it all worthwhile. It just erases all the heartache I experienced and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Thank you Matthew. And Derek (Ong) and Fauzi, and Paul and Jon JC, and Jericho, and Rongli, and Caleb, and Kai Jun, and Leslie and Xianda, and Dinesh (4A2) and Hua Xiang (4A1). It was my pleasure to teach you all.
