Mum has been having some bad luck with tyres recently. She first got a flat on Valentine’s Day. Back tyre, driver’s side. She was quoted $8 for it to be fixed, but the gentleman who patched it did it FOC. He must have taken pity on her as she was transporting two wheelchair-bound family members at the time.
Yesterday, when we drove into the gas station, it was pointed out to us that we had a flat(ish) tyre. The workshop at the gas station wanted to charge us $20 to patch the tyre, so we passed on his offer. We got the AA to change the tyre to the spare instead. You may not be aware, but many automobile makers no longer supply the standard tyre as the spare tyre. Instead, in order to cut costs, the spare tyre supplied is much smaller. It looks more like a motorcycle tyre than a car tyre.
We couldn’t get the tyre fixed yesterday as it was already way past office hours. So I’ll be driving down to the workshop after seeing WL off at the airport.
