Attended the SPC Car Boot Sale at Downtown East yesterday. It started out really, and I mean REALLY hot. Set up was from 9am till 11am. We set off from home at abt 9, and arrived at ard 9:30am, since I was blur and did not confirm the exact carpark (Carpark B) before leaving, so we wasted a bit of time finding it (Next to the country club).
I was allocated Lot 158. Actually, I was originally allocated Lot 120 by the gas station, but a few days later, the guy from the office called to see if I was allocated a lot, as it did not show on his computer. I told him that it was 120, but it was not under my name, so he allocated me another one. It worked out fine, as 158 was in a better location. It was just next to the buildings of Downtown East itself. Anyway, opposite us, a little to the left, as the DJ/Radio station, and a little to the right was the Gold 90.5FM car. Audrey Ying stopped by to comment on how my goods had more shade than I did. She also bought an oil burner for her colleague. Thanks Audrey!
After we were all set up:

What garnered the most attention were my shelves, especially from the other vendors. Maybe I should have charged them for the idea. Lol
Anyway, it started to drizzle a little after a while - maybe 11:30 or so. Audrey was nice enough to hold an umbrella over my stuff as I tried to get them under cover. (Mr Milo had gone off to look for socks) I did not keep everything away but put some away, and made sure that the rest were under the overhang of the boot/hatchback door. When the sun came out again, most of the vendors around me put their stuff out once again. I was extremely distrustful of the dark could that was still hanging around, and left my things as they were (clothes in the car, everything else under cover). Mr Milo came back with lunch, and as I was eating my McChicken, it stated to actually rain. So we just put everything in the car and went had a nice leisurely lunch at the seats and tables of the hawker centre. Once the rain subsided, and most of the other vendors went back to set up, so did we.

We were just concluding a sale with the very nice Chin when it started to rain once again. It was a big one this time. We quickly packed everything once again, and went to McCafe to get a cold drink and to enjoy the airconditioning there. We then took a walk to Cheers, and found these rip-offs of traditional board games.
Can you guess the original games these were modeled after?
This one caught our eye first, because of the name:

Then, there are:

, including variations -

Then Mr Milo went off for his badminton game. I walked around some more, and since the rain did not look like it was stopping anytime soon, I went and got myself a pedicure, complete with nail art on each of my big toes.

While getting my pedi done, the sun came out. Having no choice in the matter, I stayed put, and just enjoyed the little bit of pampering, when it started to rain again. It did this on and off the whole time I was getting my pedi done, making me curse and cheer my decision alternately. As it was still raining after I was done, I stayed and read old gossip magazines until I needed to go to the ladies. I then walked around some more. When it was almost 6pm, I walked to the car, intending call it a day and pick JH up, but was thinking twice because the rain was almost gone, and I noticed that there were customers around. I barely opened the boot when people came and stared at my stuff, so I laid things out again.
We stayed until closing at 9pm, packed up and had dinner at the Sakae Sushi there before going home (with a detour for a tow hway supper).

Today, we dropped off most of what we did not sell at the Salvation Army.
