Thoughts on travelling outfit

Ok. So I’ll be flying to SF to visit my brother in September.   When I fly long haul, I usually have a uniform – jeans, boots and a long sleeved blouse. This is based on the advice that we should travel with our heaviest clothes and footwear, and to keep warm on the plane. However, I’m beginning to re-think that, especially for this trip. For one, air travel in the US calls for convenient footwear due to the need to take them on and off for x-ray purposes. Not sure if this applies to flying into the US though.

Another reason I’m re-thinking the jeans route is because of icky airplane and airport toilets. I do not like the idea that my jeans are cleaning up the ick from the floors left by other passengers.

Which brings me to dresses and skirts. I like the idea of maxi dresses as they seem wonderfully comfy. Also, due to the length, would protect my modesty as well as jeans. However, I think most maxi dresses look like pajamas. Moreover, those that I’m able to find so far are more suitable as evening wear than day wear. I guess that leaves me with long skirts then. Am thinking of something like a peasant skirt, but am not so sure where to get a nice one, or how it’ll look.  Hmm, I guess I'll have to think more about it.
