I had always been interested in pottery, but never got around to trying it out.
After registering for all the required courses for this semester, I was still short of 3 credits necessary to remain in status. So I trawled the courses offered by my college and discovered they have Ceramics classes and signed up for Ceramics I. We started by making pinch pots before moving to the wheel.
This video was taken on my second session in the studio practicing centering (and eventually making cylinders). However, it took place 4 weeks
after the first, due to the Great Texas Snow Storm of 2021 and the ensuing
madness. I was obviously not very good at point (not that I am good at it now). It was my second or third (maybe fourth) try, and viewing it, I realise that it was probably centered 2 or three times before I was finally satisfied. Anyway, it's been sped up because I just took soooooooooo L.O.N.G to do it. ;)
I am very jealous of your ceramic exploits. Next time we go find a place and you teach me :P
ReplyDeleteDo you want to work on the wheel, or just play with clay, because we can definitely handbuild stuff.
